The opportunities to get to know my patients over time inspire me the most. I want to be there for them in times of challenge or vulnerability — and to see them through these times.I’m passionate about engaging each individual in their healthcare decision-making process and ensuring that all patients feel welcome, safe and respected, so that they can participate in health care in a way that feels approachable.I grew up in Burlington and studied biology and anthropology at Hamilton College. After college, I lived in Seattle and progressed toward my medical career — from working at REI and a bread bakery to volunteering at the University of Washington Medical Center and then at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, where I focused on ovarian and breast cancer research.Upon completing my medical school degree at the Larner College of Medicine at University of Vermont, I returned to Seattle for my family medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente. Now, I’m finally back home in Vermont.I enjoy spending time with my family and doing almost anything outdoors, like hiking, paddling, cross-country skiing, cooking, gardening and dabbling in artistic endeavors.
